Snow Days.... Foggy Days.... Right before Christmas Days...

I don't know who (Caleb or me) was more bummed today that school was back in session..... Wait a minute..... I'm pretty sure it was Caleb. I kissed my family goodbye about 6:45 this morning, and took off for work in a thick pea-soup-like fog (I'm not real sure what pea-soup looks like because it sounds nasty, and I've never had it, but it must be thick). The fog was SO thick, that I could barely see from one utility pole to the next. I got to the south side of Terre Haute and the fog disappeared. It was very cloudy and windy, but I could actually see a small piece of blue sky here and there. As I looked in the rear-veiw mirror, I could see a wall of fog..... it was VERY strange.

I called David to tell him about the strange phenomon and learned that they were still sitting at the bus stop at 7:35 and my wonderful husband was not very happy - the bus was VERY late at this point. Our neighbor, Bob-the-school-teacher, was nice enough to have called earlier to let him know the buses were late but that knowledge did nothing to improve his humor at having to wait so long. David is NOT a very good wait-er..... Glad I made the sacrifice of leaving for work early...... someone has to make a sacrifice now and then, right?

Snow Days... Snow Days... Cold and Treacherous Snow Days...

I don't know who (Caleb or me!) was excited more yesterday when our friendly neighbor (Bob - the school teacher) called to let us know that school was cancelled due to the weather. In fact, about a 1/2 hour after Bob called, I had to call him back to apologize because it occurred to me that I hung up on him. He said - Yep, you yelled WOO-HOO and slammed the phone down. How rude...... but I really DID have good news to spread!

Needless to say, Caleb ran and jumped in our bed, snuggled into the covers, turned the TV on and stayed there for a LONG time. I logged onto work for a few hours, and after lunch we made cookies and cinnamon rolls......... YUMMY!! It was a supreme sacrifice for me to stay home so that David could get out and go to work, but I didn't mind making that sacrifice for my beloved husband. I know he really wanted to go out yesterday.

Sadly, I had to call on some good friends (THANKS Chris and Sherri) to keep Caleb today so that I could drag myself out of the house, and go back to work today. Guess that's what I get.
